There is still time to register for the Young Bakery Entrepreneurs Competition (CJE)! Simply go to the website and select “Inscription”. Fill in the online registration form and send it to us as soon as possible.
Our partner Grands Moulins de Paris created this competition nearly 15 years ago. It is designed for contestants with a vocational training certificate (CAP) in baking or pastry-making and for bakers or pastry chefs with at least three years of professional experience who would like to open their first artisan bakery.
The competition will take place in three stages. First, candidates will be pre-selected by region. This stage will include an oral interview to assess their motivation and a multiple-choice technical exam. Candidates who complete this stage successfully will then be asked to submit an application explaining their reasons for entering the competition. Participants who are selected for the final stage will need to present their project to the selection committee, prepare several products that are representative of an artisan bakery, and showcase their business skills.
The final stage will be held 22nd and 23rd November at the Paris Bakery and Patisserie School. At the end of the second day, three prizes worth a total of €60,000 will be awarded to the winning candidates.
These awards are a tremendous support for young bakers and pastry chefs seeking to open their first bakery. The deadline for registering is 18th September.
